For the Roemer Visscher College in The Hague South West the artist André Pielage created the work ‘Aardewerk' (literal translation: 'pottery' or 'earthenware'). Like stalactites dozens of colourful vases and jars (from a great variety of cultures) hang from the high ceiling of the white entrance hall of the school.

The Roemer Visscher College trains students in engineering and hospitality. It is a practical training, where 'the hands of our society' are prepared for a future career. The school has a broad cultural background. The multitude of ethnicities is combined in an image with a distinct craft (pottery), which is known all over the world.
