Nacho Carbonell, 2011

Johan de Witt College, Capadosestraat, The Hague

On the roof of the Johan de Witt College the Spanish artist/designer Nacho Carbonell has installed a huge flesh-coloured bench. Like in a living room, the cushions are waiting for the children of the school to use them. When it gets dark two moon-shaped bulbs lighten up this rooftop square, from where you have a great view of the skyline of The Hague.

Nacho Carbonell first became known with his graduation project ‘Pump It Up', a chair that is also a pet ( in a kind of symbiotic relationship). Carbonell often plays with the undefined connection between the senses and our surrounding environment, bringing the observer to interact with his pieces.
