Bisscheroux & Voet, 2011

Maris College Bohemen, Monseigneur Nolenslaan 16, The Hague

For the Maris College Bohemen the artists/designers Bisscheroux & Voet designed a monumental school bell, called the 'Woofah'. Like huge earthworms three enormous orange tubes crawl along the school yard and are transformed into a huge horn. Everytime the school bell rings, the horn produces a different sound. Bisscheroux & Voet developed around 50 alternative sounds, taken from archive material, film clips and other sources. In addition, the 'Woofah' also functions as a hangout and meeting place for the children of the school.
