The art committee of the Annie M.G. Schmidt Primary School commissioned a work from Illustrator Femme ter Haar. Femme drew inspiration from the stained glass windows designed by Hans Truyen for the old school building. These windows have since been transferred to the school's new location. The artist has created colourful window stickers based on the ‘hole in the hedgerow' theme - which also plays a big role in the first ‘Jip and Janneke' story in Annie M.G. Schmidt's classic series of Dutch children's books. Various exciting and sensitive subjects are given a heart-warming and playful treatment in the artist's poetic and atmospheric images.
