Voldersgracht

Instead of creating a new building the artist duo Hertzsch&Page has proposed to ugrade an existing container. When they visited The Hague they noticed that ‘upgrading' has become one of the keywords in the renovation of the city. A prominent example is the way in which Michael Graves equipped a government building with a new façade and a new roof. Hertzsch&Page have upgraded one of the Biesieklette containers on the Voldersgracht by giving it a new exterior. The outer walls are covered with grey plates made of synthetic fibre. The container has a new look and is equipped with high-tech objects like a satelite dish and surveyance cameras.
