Location: YES College and Children's Center Aquamarijn,  Donker Curtiusstraat 4, The Hague

Nynke Koster is a graduate of the Interior Architecture program at the Royal School of Art in The Hague. She regularly makes works in public spaces and installations on location. Nynke is particularly interested in working with stories from the past. She often makes casts of elements from the site surrounding the work, translating them in her objects into mementos.

For the large-scale art project Shades of Palms at YES College and Children's Center Aquamarijn, she worked together with the pupils and made casts of various pupils' hands - or, to be more precise, of the insides of their hands when they formed them into a cup. These unique casts served as the basis for 3000 tiles, which were produced in a wide range of body tones and installed along the main walkway between the two school buildings.
