This fall, under the title Speelruimte (Playroom) Stroom Den Haag presents a group exhibition on art projects at schools in The Hague. Using sketch designs, models and film footage, contemporary artists provide insight into the creation of 13 works of art. Works that are located in the heart of the city, yet often remain hidden from a wider audience. Visitors to the exhibition are invited to take a look behind the scenes and get to see how artists work with students and schools to create new works of art in special locations.

Through these school projects thousands of children come into contact with art almost daily and in a very natural way. With their Art at Schools program, Stroom has been connecting artists to schools in The Hague for decades. It has led to special forms of participation and commissioning and more than 100 unique artworks on location. The exhibition Speelruimte offers a snapshot of ongoing commissions. As a cross-section, it shows the great diversity and versatility of the commissions and artworks. Speelruimte invites the visitor to discover the dynamics of an extraordinary creative process.

The exhibition is realized with the support of the City of The Hague.
