The Sea, the Beach and the Harbour

In the summer of 2004 Stroom Den Haag kicked off a large-scale event around the theme of North Sea culture. ‘The Sea, the Beach and the Harbour' looked into the importance of sea, beach and harbour for The Hague, the village of Scheveningen and the rest of the world. A happening on the borderline between art and science, and an exploration of the sea as part of public space, through a.o. ‘Sea Travels', workshops, art projects, films, lectures, publications and symposiums.

With the participation of the artists: Krijn Giezen, Annelies Dijkman, Denis Oudendijk, Jan Körbes, Esther Polak and many others.

The final goal of this sea project was the publication of the ‘enSEAclopaedia', 1001 fascinating stories about the sea, organized from A to Z (not realized in print).
