Screening and talk by Oleksiy Radynski (Ukraine).

This screening and talk will offer glimpses into the pre- and post-revolutionary realities defined by the polarisation and radicalisation of society in Ukraine. Commenting on the fragments of documentary films produced between 2013 and 2019 will expose the issues such as proxy politics of Russian state (Incident in the Museum, People Who Came To Power), dialectics of violence (Integration), financial colonialism of the EU (The Film of Kyiv. Episode One), and ecological urban resistance (Landslide).

Oleksiy Radynski is a filmmaker and writer based in Kyiv. His films have been screened at Oberhausen International Short Film Festival, DOK Leipzig, e-flux (New York), SAVVY Contemporary (Berlin), Institute for Contemporary Arts (London), and others. He recently presented his work at Berlinale Forum Expanded, Museum of Modern Art (New York), Shtab (Bishkek), and Architectural Association (London). His texts have been published in Proxy Politics: Power and Subversion in a Networked Age (Archive Books, 2017), Art and Theory of Post-1989 Central and East Europe: A Critical Anthology (MoMA, 2018), and in e-flux journal. He is a participant of the Visual Culture Research Center.
