Studio visits Lieneke Hulshof: 25 and 26 November
On Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 November 2025, curator, moderator and art journalist Lieneke Hulshof will visit a number of artists’ studios in The Hague. She describes her fields of interest as follows:
“Lieneke Hulshof curates exhibitions in and about the Dutch landscape, focusing on the relationship between people and nature, tradition and change. She is interested in making contemporary art visible in contexts where it is rarely seen. In all her work, it is important to her to make art tangible and to show that artists tell stories that ultimately concern all of us. Other areas of interest include: language and art, art education, journalism and engagement.''
Short biography
Lieneke Hulshof (1993, Lichtenvoorde) was editor-in-chief of the online art magazine Mister Motley and currently works as an independent curator, moderator and art journalist. She also teaches theory at ArtEZ University of the Arts in Arnhem, is chair of the board of artist Karel van Laere (Largo), and a board member of the Buning Brongers Foundation. Since 2025, she has also been an advisor for Visual Arts at the BNG Culture Fund. In 2025 and 2026, she will be working on a large group exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam about the political dimensions of food and eating.
How to apply
If you are interested in a studio visit from Lieneke Hulshof, please apply by Sunday 9 November via this link. In the form, briefly describe your motivation for a studio visit (in Dutch or English!) and include a link to your artist profile on haagsekunstenaars.nl as well as your personal website.
All applications will be shared with the curator, along with any additional suggestions from Stroom. Based on this list, she will make a selection and compile the visit schedule. You will be notified shortly after the deadline whether or not you have been selected for a studio visit.
About the studio visit programme
Stroom regularly invites curators, artists and critics from the Netherlands and abroad to visit studios of artists registered with Stroom. A studio visit offers artists the opportunity to present their work and to engage in constructive critical reflection through conversation with an art professional. In addition, it helps to increase the visibility and recognition of their artistic practice.
