Managing Director Femke IJsinga-van Boxsel is leaving Stroom Den Haag

Managing Director Femke IJsinga-van Boxsel will be leaving Stroom Den Haag in August 2026. On 1 January 2027, she will take up the position of Managing Director at CBK Rotterdam, for which she will begin a handover period in the coming months. After three years of dedicated service to Stroom Den Haag and The Hague’s arts sector, this move represents a logical next step in her career and a return to her home city.

In recent years, she has focused on strengthening and future-proofing both Stroom’s mission and its organisation. This has led to the professionalisation of governance and the optimisation of operational management, including the implementation of the Museum Collective Labour Agreement.

Externally, she has focused on consolidating partnerships with stakeholders and increasing Stroom’s visibility. For instance, a new website has been launched, featuring a digital application portal and an online library catalogue. In addition, she has strengthened relationships with the municipality, the cultural sector and, in particular, The Hague’s creative hubs. It was in collaboration with the latter that the establishment of Buro Broedplaats was initiated.

The board and the team would like to thank Femke warmly for her dedication and achievements.
