Folder with PR material and articles related to Raul Ortega Ayala (1973). The methods the artist uses resemble the work of an ethnographer. As he immerses himself as a 'participant observer' in environments such as those related to food, gardening, office work and most recently statistics, he then uses the materials and experiences arising from these immersions to produce a group of works he calls 'souvenirs'. As part of Stroom's 'Foodprint' programme, Ortega Ayala's exhibition 'Living Remains' included performance, video, text and objects, which explored the meaning of food beyond physical sustenance to include the rituals and cycles of life, our emotions and psychology (Sep 12 - Nov 21, 2010).
