In Minor Keys: the 61st Venice Biennale

Under the title In Minor Keys, the 61st Venice Biennale brings together artists from around the world from 9 May to 22 November 2026. Among them are two artists Stroom has worked with very recently: Jenna Sutela and Buhlebezwe Siwani. Sutela presented her first solo exhibition in the Netherlands, ave bossa, bow ole, at Stroom in 2025. In Venice, she represents Finland with Aeolian Suite, an installation of wind, sound and movement. Siwani created a new art commision in public space, Remember Our United Beginning, The Hague’s monument commemorating the history of transatlantic slavery. During the Biennale, her work is part of the main exhibition, Minor Keys, where her practice around memory and shared history continues to resonate.
