The Dutch Embassy in India presents the second edition of its artist-in-residence programme: Rembrandt Residency. This fully funded residency offers Dutch artists and artists based in the Netherlands the opportunity to undertake a 6 – 12 week residency in India in collaboration with one of the following eight partner organisations:

  1. Artshila (Bihar) – 6 weeks
    This residency in Siwan focuses on socially and politically engaged artistic practices. Over the course of six weeks, artists develop studio-based projects while actively engaging with local communities around themes such as gender, ecology, agriculture, memory, protest, and social justice.

  2. Hampi Art Labs (Karnataka) – 12 weeks
    This residency in Hampi centres on ceramics and clay-based practices, encouraging artists to engage in experimental and hands-on research using local materials, artisanal techniques, and the cultural landscape of Hampi.

  3. HH Art Spaces (Goa) – 12 weeks
    This residency in Aldona explores performance and performative practices as a means to rethink embodied knowledge, collective learning, and colonial histories from local perspectives.

  4. Kattaikuttu Sangam (Tamil Nadu) – 12 weeks
    This residency in Punjarasantankal focuses on traditional Tamil music theatre and performance. Artists contribute to documentation, scenography, archiving, and knowledge exchange within the Kattaikkuttu community.

  5. Kochi Biennale Foundation (Kerala) – 6 weeks
    This residency in Kochi focuses on artistic research into oceanic histories, colonial legacies, and stories of migration, resistance, and survival rooted in the context of Malabar.

  6. MassArt – Durga Puja Art (West Bengal) – 7 weeks
    This residency in Kolkata centres on public art and large-scale installations within the cultural framework of the Durga Puja festival, in collaboration with local artisans and communities.

  7. Rajka Designs (Gujarat) – 6 weeks
    This residency in Ahmedabad focuses on ceramics and traditional clay techniques, offering artists the opportunity to collaborate with master potters on material research, experimentation, and artisanal knowledge exchange.

  8. The Design Village (Delhi NCR) – 12 weeks
    This residency in Noida investigates the relationship between water, ecology, and design through interdisciplinary research, experimental making processes, and speculative design practices.
