Frisse Start is a project launched by Growing Pains, an initiative that operates at the intersection of visual arts, publishing, dialogue, education, and human connection, and is dedicated to supporting female and non-binary artists. Frisse Start, the euphemistic reference to the term used by the government and media to describe the recovery process, was realized in collaboration with the foundation Justify. The project combines research and artistic works by visual artists and writers who collectively explore the benefits scandal. This newspaper presents the visual and poetic expressions of the children who have been affected by it. The works were created during a workshop led by artists Nadine Stijns and Batya Brown, and filmmaker Melissa Strangio. A publication covering all aspects of the project will be released in late 2027.
