Ripolettashecity was a collective exhibition project that, during its presentation at Manifiesta developed with the complicity of its cultural and social actors, inviting visitors to reflect on how we can transform cities in the current context. It aimed to give voice to the people and expecially to women who, from the field of historiography, art, music and social and cultural activism, are working to improve the living situation of a city like Ripollet, where its inhabitants often seek new horizons outside its limits, while, in a fact, it is a city just 10 km from Barcelona so you would think it is a privileged place to live, so close to a big city like Barcelona and at the same time far from pollution, acceleration and tourism. But something prevents this from happening. The project consisted of three conceptual spaces that were different but closely related, where visitors should welcomed and comfortable. The publication describes the current economic, social and urban situation of Ripollet and generates questions that are directed in a particular way to the conditions of accessibility in relation to mobility, health, education and culture.
