Catalogue accompanying the Art Event of the same name that took place at Kunstfort Asperen, Fort Nieuwersluis, Kunstfort near Vijfhuizen (May 30-September 20, 2015 ). “What dangers lie in my path? How can I deceive my opponent? How does my enemy think - and who is this enemy anyway?” These questions were the starting point of the international art event Gimme Shelter - forts and fictions in Lowland. Three forts of the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie and the Stelling van Amsterdam formed the backdrop of three thematically related exhibitions, which focused on military fictions.
