112 Workshop, 112 Greene Street was an alternative artist space that started in 1970, in New York. Initiated by Gordon Matta-Clark and Jeffrey Lew, it wet on under the name White Columns. By the beginning of the 60's artists begun to break through the institutional isolation of art, by making more direct, personal, and often collective presentations of their work, in studios, storefronts, and on the streets of the city.
