Published on the occasion of the similar titled exhibition at Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven, 10 April - 15 August 2010. Andrzej Wroblewski (1927-1957) was a Polish artist, and his solo exhibition serves to raise questions about recognition, geographic margins and the consequences of ideological ignorance during the forty years of the Cold War. Among Wróblewski's most famous works are the ones devoted to the memorialization of Polish civilian hostages being executed following the German invasion of Poland in 1939.
