Folder with PR material and articles related to Charles van Otterdijk (1976).The artist studied economics, communication and visual arts, but immediately after the start of his career as a visual artist in 2009, he decided to withdraw from the art world. He was fascinated by abandoned places that seem disconnected from social life. The results of his ongoing research became visible in two exhibitions (respectively at Stroom Den Haag in 2013 and in the Van Abbemuseum in 2014) and in an accompanying publication. The title 'Double Center: Situation Reports from a Twilight Zone' refers to two mysterious buildings in the former GDR and to Van Otterdijk's Kafkaesque experiences in interpreting these structures. The exhibition took the visitor on a search for a twilight zone where the boundaries between legal and illegal and between fiction and reality become blurred.
