Folder with PR materials and articles related to Lucy Orta (1966). The artist started her career by working with homeless people and refugees to develop her 'Refuge Wear': weatherproof, literally habitable sleeping bags and other functional, wearable architecture. Interaction with the public is often at the basis of Lucy Orta's projects. For her exhibition FLUID ARCHITECTURE II at Stroom (then located at Spui), 13 Jul - 05 Oct '02, she turned the exhibition space into a into a temporary 'laboratory' for discussion, ideas and experimentation, connecting political and artistic ideas and forging links between the hopes and fears of everyday life. "I wish to be present in the social arena as a catalyst between utopia and reality. I call this Instigator Sculpture."
