Publication containing information about the installations Heiner Holtappels has made with Klaus Boegel, from 1981–1984, and his own installations from 1985 onward by himself Heiner Holtappels (1948-2026) has been an important pioneer in performance and media art. From 1975 till 1998 Holtappels was working as an visual artist and as a teacher, first at the Vrije Academie in The Hague, and later as Professor of Fine Arts at the Academy of Arts in Arnhem (the Academy which he headed from 1996 onwards). From 1998 till early 2011 he was Director of the Netherlands Media Art Institute (NIMk) in Amsterdam. He is also a senior lecturer in Autonomous Art at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Arnhem.
