"Postcolonial Monuments in the Netherlands provides an overview of memorials that were erected in the post-war Netherlands and that relate in some way to the colonial period. The selection of photos as well as the texts in this booklet are informative and interpretive, and can therefore provoke response. To encourage the latter, the photos will be published with captions on Flickr at the same time as this publication, with the option to add comments and new photos. In this way we hope to provide a platform for a broader and active reflection on the colonial past and the way in which this postcolonial is commemorated."
