Publication reflecting on a project collaboration between the Master Non Lineair Narrative of the Royal Academy of Art. the Archeology Department and the Rotterdamsebaan Project of the Municipality of The Hague. and Stroom Den Haag. This unique collaboration allowed Non Linear Narrative students direct access to archaeological remains found during the ‘Rotterdamsebaan’ tunnel excavation. ' Six Degrees of Separation' challenged students to re-contextualize human artefacts, some from Roman times, to discover surprising links to contemporary issues affecting The Hague today. Student outcomes included extensive fieldwork in collaboration with business owners of the rapidly gentrifying Binckhorst area, situated today at the exit point of the ‘Rotterdamsebaan’ tunnel. The Six Degrees of Separation exhibition brought together thoughtful narratives exploring land speculation, property development, migration and endangered craftsmanship, to be displayed alongside original archaeological remains.
