This detailed book is published to mark the exhibition tour by the Belgian artist David Claerbout (Kortrijk, 1969). The tour began at the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus und Kunstbau in Munich on 15/10/2004 before travelling to the Akademie der Künste in Berlin, the Van Abbemuseum 5/06/ - 18/09/2005 and finally Dundee Contemporary Arts in Scotland. The book comprises a foreword by the compilers and two essays by the English art critic David Green. In the first essay entitled ‘The Visibility of Time’, Green explores the meaning of time within Claerbout’s body of work in general, while the second entitled ‘Beyond Narrativity: Time, Space and the Embodiment of the Viewer’ deals more specifically with the narrative aspect of his work.
