Christine Borland does not hide her preoccupation with the great stories of Life and Death. Both on a formal and a methodological level, her work is almost incomparable to any other existing contemporary work. Although sometimes executed using almost old-fashioned techniques, this body of work is nevertheless extremely fresh , occupying a fitting position in the discourse of late twentieth/early twentyfirst century culture. Her oeuvre is ingrained with narrrative, telling stories about Good and Evil, Life and Death, Guilt and Innocence.
