Vito Acconci is an American artist, and was among the most important pioneers of performance and video art. Since 1974 he has no longer included his own body in his work, but his investigation of the boundaries between the body and public space, often with an implied social message, has been continued through sculpture, installation and experimental architecture. Stroom Den Haag has worked with Acconci several times In 1997 1998 Vito Acconci & Studio realized 'Park in the Water' at the Haagse Hogeschool, The Hague The project had grown of his informal proposal for a mega plan for the Laakhaven / Hollands Spoor area, which e had already shown at his exhibition of ' Models for Public Art' in 1993 in The Hague.
