British artist Phyllida Barlow (*1944 in Newcastle upon Tyne) has been creating sculptures and expansive installations for over fifty years. Using simple materials such as plywood, cardboard, fabric, plaster, paint, and plastic, Barlow’s physically impressive and materially insistent sculptures ask questions about our relationship to objects, and about objects’ relationships to us.
