This book has been published on the occasion of Manifesta 5 - European Biennial of Contemporary Art, held in Donostia and San Sebastian, Spain, 11 June - 30 September 2004. Curated by Marta Kuzman and Massimilliano Gioni. The idea of Manifesta was created when the Iron Curtain of the Cold War was dismantled and its symbol, the Berlin Wall, had come down in 1989.
