This book has been published on the occasion of Manifesta 4 - European Biennial of Contemporary Art, held in Franfurt am Main, 25 May - 25 August, 2002. Curated by Iara Boubnova, Nuria Enguita Mayo, Stéphanie Moisdon Trembley. The idea of Manifesta was created when the Iron Curtain of the Cold War was dismantled and its symbol, the Berlin Wall, had come down in 1989.
