We are excited to announce our participation in the Just Peace Festival, a vibrant platform for dialogue, collaboration, and action on the pressing global challenges of peace and justice.

This summer, The Hague will host a NATO summit for the first time in the alliance’s 70-year history. At Stroom Den Haag – located between the city centre and the secure perimeter – The Cost of Alliance will be on display: an exhibition examining NATO’s historical presence and role. We present works by four contemporary artists: Juul Hondius, Kristina Benjocki and Stijn Verhoeff, Vladislav Shapovalov, and Lotte Geeven. The exhibition delves into NATO’s geopolitical culture, exploring themes such as secrecy, the arms race, propaganda, the West, and the notion of the ‘global citizen’. We are also organizing a fringe program with screenings and conversations with the artists. More information will follow soon.

The Cost of Alliance is part of our multi-year programme See You in The Hague, a multi-faceted narrative about the ambition and reality of The Hague as International City of Peace and Law.
