Following 'Art Amsterdam', Stroom is participating for the first time in the international art fair Preview Berlin. It is doing so with a solo exhibition by Ton Schuttelaar (b. 1972), whose work can be described as sharp, minimalist, and conceptual. As an artist, Schuttelaar exemplifies the current cultural dynamism of The Hague. Behind the formal face of the Dutch seat of government lies a vibrant art scene and a thriving underground culture. The magazine DH/, which Stroom is distributing at the fair, illustrates the diversity of The Hague, a city aspiring to become the Cultural Capital of Europe within a decade.
The booth and the magazine were made possible with the support of the European Regional Development Fund and the Municipality of The Hague (DSO department).
Works by Ton Schuttelaar were previously shown in 2006 at Stroom's project space at Toussaintkade 55 in the solo exhibition ‘for this great fire’.
