State of Affairs 2004

Stand van Zaken (State of Affairs) is the annual presentation of artists who are active in The Hague. This time the selection was made by Roel Arkesteijn (curator GEM, The Hague), Maurits van de Laar (galerist, The HAgue), Arno van Roosmalen (new director Stroom and former coördinator Tent. center for visual arts, Rotterdam) and Ewoud van Rijn (artist, Rotterdam). They each chose 10 artists, which produced a list  of 26 different artists.

The selected artists:

Loes Aarts, Rachel Bacon, Aris de Bakker, Justin Bennett, Martijn van Boven, Harold de Bree, Hans Ensink op Kemna, Gamal Ez, gerlach en koop, José den Hartog, Jan Körbes, Sabrina Lindemann and Annechien Meier (project bureau Optrek), Eelco van der Lingen, Marjolijn van der Meij, Arianne Olthaar, Jos de l'Orme, Ossip, Conny Kim Pols, Zeger Reyers, Evert Rodewijk, Vittorio Roerade, Machiel van Soest, Thom Vink and Nies Vooijs.

Most of these artists presented new work made especially for the exhibition.

The presentation took place in the former Stroom building on the Spui 193-195.
