Rob Scholte

Onderstroom presentation

Date: 13 April - 31 May 1992

Because Rob Scholte (1958) presented one of the four main works, the Kolossos, along the The Hague–Utrecht highway as part of Allocaties, the visual art project at the Floriade, Stroom invited him for an Onderstroom presentation, in which he would show his sources of inspiration and references.
Hans Oerlemans wrote in Het Binnenhof (April 24, 1992):

"It turned out to be a fairly simple setup. On the floor are ten large and small houseplants (ficus trees) in ordinary pots. There's also a schematic drawing of a head on which various brain functions are located. Additionally, the Blokker version of the Kolossos from Zoetermeer is present, with a lush plant that has almost overgrown the head. One detail is of considerable importance: all the plant leaves have a rectangular shape. The artist has trimmed and cut the elongated oval leaves with scissors into the shape of a cross."

Exhibition as part of the Floriade 1992 in Zoetermeer.

Conversation between Rob Scholte and Atte Jongstra, moderated by Nico Haasbroek, took place at the Boterwaag on April 12, 1992. Fold-out leaflet with text by Atte Jongstra.
