Continuous video programme

Date: Saturday, 10 October 2026
7:00 PM–12:00 AM: Exhibition & continuous video programme
Location: Stroom Den Haag, Hogewal 1-9, The Hague

During Museumnacht Den Haag, Stroom Den Haag presents the temporary exhibition Universal Language: Concrete Composure, alongside a continuous video programme featuring five artists and makers from The Hague.

Theme

During Museumnacht, Stroom presents a special video programme in the entrance area, centred around the theme Universal Language: Concrete Composure. This group exhibition, featuring work by Oladélé Ajiboyé Bamgboyé, Victoria Keddie, Aslı Nur Mahmutoğlu and Rodrigo Ochigame, is currently on view at Stroom.

Through images, pop songs and algorithms, the artists explore how language emerges and continually changes. What happens to language as people, machines and AI increasingly learn from one another?

Museum objects are given a digital life, algorithms become poets, and familiar voices and pop songs acquire unexpected meanings. Together, the works reveal how communication is constantly shifting between bodies and technology, history and culture. This question is more relevant than ever, as translation software and artificial intelligence increasingly influence how we speak, write and understand one another. The exhibition deliberately explores the spaces where things become unsettled: where translation, misunderstandings and encounters cause meanings to shift and something new can emerge.

Video Works

The video works were selected through an open call for artists and makers from The Hague, as well as recently graduated artists.
