Come visit and discover this unique art project and the honeybee! The Queen Bank is a meeting place between bee and human. As a visitor, you can hear the buzzing of the bees, watch them fly in and out of their hive, and experience the process from pollination to honey production. A truly special experience!
From June 1 to September 1, 2014, this breeding site for queens and bee colonies will again be open to the public every Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. A beekeeper is often present to provide information. The Queen Bank is located outdoors in the rear courtyard of Stroom Den Haag, on Maziestraat (a side street off Noordeinde).
The Queen Bank is a project by French artist Olivier Darné, in collaboration with Emmanuelle Roule and Le Parti Poétique. It consists of twenty colorful beehives in which queens and bee colonies are bred by beekeepers from the Beekeepers Association of The Hague and Surroundings.
