Henk Hubenet en Mark de Weijer

The painters Henk Hubenet (1946) and Mark de Weijer (1963) were invited by Stroom to make a collaborative exhibition in the Toussaintkade. Their subject was the art of painting itself, with the emphasis on the sensual aspect of colour, skin, scale and proportion. Henk Hubenet showed 5 paintings: adventurous improvisations with style, composition and colour combinations. In front of these paintings Mark de Weijer placed his 10 benches, like 3-dimensional paintings full of subtle colour shadings. Together the two artists turned the exhibition space into a place of serene quietness and meditation
