Felix Hess

Open atelier

Date: 20 November - 3 December 1992

Kazebotaru (Japanese for "wind-fireflies") — a silent concert for the eyes. Frog concerts in the nocturnal silence of the Australian outback served as the inspiration for the 200 identical glowing devices, "sound creatures" that responded to their environment. Artist and physicist Felix Hess (1941) was particularly interested in the unimaginable patterns of the light flashes in space and time — sensitive and living patterns.

OPEN STUDIO
This series focused on artists working at the intersection of visual art and another discipline. They provided commentary on their work. These evenings were well attended and sparked lively discussions.
In addition to discussing their own work, the invited artists also presented an exhibition in the "Bovenkamer" (Upper Room) over the course of two weeks.
