Ben Moritz

88 x

Datum: 13 December - 28 January 1995

In this exhibition, 88-year-old draughtsman and etcher Ben Moritz (1906–2000) presented 88 works. The earliest piece dated from 1924, and the most recent from 1994. Broadly speaking, four themes could be distinguished. First, cityscapes of The Hague—particularly images of houses and streets that had disappeared over the past fifteen years. The second theme consisted of works created in France: landscapes and village scenes, especially from the Provence region. The two remaining main themes were portraits and sketches made during jazz concerts.
