ADHD XIII:The city never sleeps!
About the 24-Hour City: Photo Presentation and Twitter DebateDate: Saturday 22 June, 2013, 11:00 hrs – 16:00 hrs
As part of: The Day of Architecture (The Hague)
Location: Throughout the city of The Hague
The city never sleeps! But The Hague does. Is that a problem?
According to alderman Marnix Norder, it is. “We need nightlife. After 2 AM, The Hague shuts down,” he was quoted as saying in Den Haag Centraal (7 June, 2013). But what exactly is nightlife? On this day, ADHD will tweet about the sense and nonsense of the 24-hour city: joining the rat race and being constantly active, or embracing slow life and going to bed on time?
In honor of The Day of Architecture 2013 (The Hague), architect Corine Keus curated a photo series for a Bijenkorf shop window, featuring work by photographers from HAACS (the quarterly magazine of the Hague Architecture Café) who have captured the essence of the 24-hour city. Throughout the day, ADHD will tweet the photos and, in doing so, explore the day and nightlife of The Hague.
Organization
ADHD (Actueel Den Haag Debat – Current Affairs The Hague Debate) is a joint initiative of BNA Kring Haaglanden, Haags Architectuur Café, Het Nutshuis, and Stroom Den Haag. Alert, lively, and engaged, it opens up discussions about the latest developments in urban planning and architecture in The Hague.
