5 Years of Public Art

Warm or Cold

Date: 7 April - 29 July 1995

For the presentation of this exhibition, Andrea Blum designed ‘PUBLIC AFFAIRS', an arrangement of seven pieces of furniture, a cross between private and public. This made it possible to show slides, photographs, videos, films, publications and documentation of public art projects realized by Stroom between 1990 and 1995. There was a seating element as bookcase, a chaise longue with spoken text and light boxes with images or a video station, from which one could watch various videos from different benches.
The visitors thus became active participants in this presentation. Moniek Toebosch, in collaboration with Henk Augustijn, designed a video presentation of works in which about
6 typical projects by Stroom were filmed with a stationary camera, implying a live link with the city. The lower level was informally set up as a studio with propped up tables covered with plans that were being worked on, models, drawings, photographs and documentation.
