Kunstenaar Anna Moreno verhuist haar klaslokaal in de KABK voor één dag naar de tentoonstelling SHOW MORE, om les te geven aan studenten Artistic Research (en geïnteresseerde bezoekers).

Anna Moreno:
"Artistic research has become a buzzword of those claiming for art the same level of competitiveness as any other academic specialization. Stepping from this paradigm of institutional fight for agency, the main purpose of my class at the KABK is to propose strategies for artists to regain their voice and lead the conversation around research not only within academia, but within art production in general.

In my program, I invite the students to reflect on their own sociopolitical context: Knowledge economies, creative industries, the figure of the entrepreneur, etc.  I am concerned on how this seemingly never-ending and utterly self-referential debate could be beneficial for the student's own practice, as I believe only artists can critically re-organize the fields of knowledge and practice, not giving for granted the academic world as the only refuge against instrumentalisation.

During the class at Stroom Den Haag, we will depart from notions around artistic labor that we discussed in former lessons to frame our participation in SHOW MORE. We will be present at the exhibition space during a full working day, from 10 until 17 hrs. We will combine practice with a lecture-discussion in which I will introduce the notion of performative research as a critical and discursive stance. From 12 until 17 hrs, the class will be open to the public."
