Ben Yau over Texting:
The exhibition's starting point is the word "text" derived from the Latin "texere", meaning “to weave”. The exhibitions explores the tension between these seemingly opposed forms of knowing: the “formal”: written, systematised, patentable, technology-mediated; and the “informal”: embodied, living, unarchived. Through the work of participating artists, the exhibition examines who constructs text, what gets archived, and whose labour and language disappears in that process.
