Established in 2021, Fragment Found is an ever-growing online archive of printed pottery sherds. It invites the public to submit their finds and crowdsources information about their history and identity via the ‘comments’ section beneath each sherd. Fragment Found is a project initiated by the artist Eva Jack with consultancy from printed ceramics expert Claire Blakey. From these collectively sourced sherds have grown works of fiction, history and reflection, factual and fanciful. This publication brings together the work of 157 finders and 14 writers to delve into the ways in which pottery fragments - mostly found in England and Scotland - connect people to the past, the land and each other.
