Publication in cassette, consisting of 2 volumes ( I with texts, interviews and photo’s, and II showing installation views), accompanying the similar named installation by Gian Maria Tosatti in the Italian Pavilion at the 59th Venice Biennial, 2022. The installation was conceived as an intermediary device that contained and mixed a variety of languages, integrating literary references and visual art, with stimuli from theatre, music, and performance. The contributors introduce the complex imaginary that is revealed in the critical text by curator Eugenio Viola, in the texts by Tosatti, in their dialogue, but above all in The disappearance of fireflies (1975), the last article Pasolini wrote, shortly before he was assassinated. In the first volume ample space is dedicated to the photographs of factories by Mimmo Jodice and Giulia Piscitelli, which represent the perfect metaphor of the decline of the industrial dream between hope, misery, wealth. and cynicism.
