This issue of Art & Design shows the development of video art through artists' texts. Although many artists began using this medium in tape form, or sculptures, the museum world never really became interested in video art. Video art was mainly supported by private initiatives, which only lately gained support of the government and business world. The World Wid Video Center in The Hague, The Netherlands, organizer of the World Wide Video Festival, is one of those places.
