55,000 books are housed in the Middelheim Museum Library in Antwerp. All are related to art, but the collection is defined by a special focus on both sculpture and art in public space. Graphic designer Julie Peeters initiated a series of publications to create an identity for the library – not through a logo or by depicting the library itself, but instead by showing how people use it as a space, as a collection, the way they navigate the shelves. This publication is the second in the series. Brussels-based artist Sophie Neys was invited to make a selection of books from the library.The books she selected brought her to the work of jacob elstein and the recent re appearance of Winston Churchill in the White house. (with pictures of Theresa May and Trump shaking hands).
