Published on the occasion of the project in galerii Foksal, Warschau 02.05-29.05.2003 . The collaborating artists created Nova Popularna as a salon-style space in Warsaw, documented here for the month of May 2003. Nova Popularna ran from the 2nd of May to the 29th 2003, in Warsaw. It was facilitated by Foundation Gallery Foksal, and was a working illegal bar with concerts and events every week. It was designed and run by the artists, who worked behind and managed the bar, with the help of friends and locals. TInfluenced by the histories of the Cabaret Voltaire, Montmartre bohemia, and band performances at the Bauhaus they imagined an alternative space for artists to socialize, exhibit work, and perform in current day Poland.
