Frank Halmans
Grote Markt, Den Haag
In 1989 The City Administration office came to Stroom with the request if we
could recommend an artist who could design a bicycle shed for the
Buitenhof in ‘no time' that would replace the one on the Groenmarkt.
The bicycle shed had to be squeezed in not far from the kiosk designed
by Berlage. Within three months, Halmans succeeded in designing and
executing a fence, and a little house that is ‘something in between a
saloon of a boat and an old tram, and satisfies all the requirements
that Biesieklette had for a modern shelter for a guard'.
Recently the guard house was moved to the Grote Markt.
