Screening of the documentary The Congo Tribunal at the Movies that Matter Festival with an introduction by Linda Polman.
Swiss theatre director Milo Rau stages a fictitious court to
search for truth and justice in the deadly conflict in the Democratic
Republic of the Congo. Involving actual protagonists, it becomes clear
that the country is trapped in a complex web of exploitation, corruption
and violence that is very hard to escape.
Linda Polman is an investigative journalist and the author of We Did Nothing, War Games and The Crisis Caravan, three books about humanitarian aid and intervention.
Germany, Switzerland 2017, 100 min.
